Research Interest:

My research focuses on the synthesis of cyclometalated ruthenium-based complexes and the exploration of their catalytic activity in alcohol dehydrogenation reactions.

Employing methanol, we developed a tandem transformation of various indole, nitro compounds, azides, carbonyls, and nitriles. We are working on the sustainable synthesis of several functionalized molecules from numerous simple starting materials utilizing methanol.

Constructing a new C-C or C-N bond following the conventional synthetic approach requires toxic alkyl halides, which generate stoichiometric amounts of salts as waste. Substituting alkyl halides with cheap and easy-to-handle alcohols as electrophiles has a great advantage. Following this strategy, we are exploring greener methodologies for various C-C and C-N bond-forming reactions, N-heterocycles synthesis, and biofuel production.
